Wanderlust — generative patch from my Jan. 22nd livestream

This patch uses one of my favorite sound sources — duty-modulated sine waves. Four of them, spread across the stereo field, passing notes in a shift register forward and occasionally backward. (This is accomplished with an inswitch devoted to each sample and hold, with the previous sample and hold connected to one input, and the following sample and hold connected to the other input. An additional layer of probability determines which input is selected.)

There’s a bunch of modulation going on all over the place, and three different blip makers — an AHD envelope, a couple of LFOs, and a random module — occasionally feed into the quantizers (we’re working with D major pentatonic), creating little trills and arps and impromptu melodies.

Everything passes through a homebrew ping-pong delay and a plate reverb to really spread the ambience around.

I do these livestreams at ungodly early hours on Saturdays (usually beginning around 8:30 AM US Eastern), if you ever want to stop in.

I restarted my Patreon, if you want to check that out: https://www.patreon.com/chmjacques
