A pleasant ambience created by a simple chord-progression-with-bass-line looping behind an improvisation by a sampled celesta.
This patch is a straightforward design with little internal complexity. The Progress chord generator controls a polyphonic Macro Oscillator – aka Braids – to provide the accompaniment pad. A burst generator is used to create melodic material for the celesta. Btw, the celesta is from the freely-available Virtual Private Orchestra SFZ and is played by the SFZ Player from the Squinky Labs plugin. A second Macro Oscillator adds a simple kick drum part, while a basic oscillator supplies a monotonic bass line to complete the audio generation group.
I’ve deployed considerably more effects processing here. The Plateau plate reverb and the Rackwindows chorus are applied globally. Two delay lines, a formants filter, a “vocal animator”, and a compressor are applied variously at the channel level.
Recorded with ecasound and edited with mhwaveedit, as usual. In Linux, as always.
