This rack is a collection of modules selected by the Golden Shrimp Guild. it is left blank intentionally so that we may all use the same rack to patch with.
This links to all the modules within the event. Same as a library link its just been shortened.

It’s finished and ready for you to try!
Collab Fixed Rack 1
Your selected modules made a truly amazing (and huge) rack. We have kept as much as possible but due to potential CPU problems with so many modules, some of your selections did have to be held back. We came up with a bit of a consolation gift for this though, keep reading!

The Cheat Bar
The ENTIRE VCV library (anything you can find at https://library.vcvrack.com/) is at your disposal. Just pick 5 of them. If you feel like you really want to bring a hardware sequencer in, use one of your cheats to do it!
The 6th Cheat
Here is a list of all the modules that didn’t make it into the rack.
You are free to choose ONE of these to add back in.

General Customization Rules
The fixed rack modules should not be duplicated. Feel free to re-arrange to your own taste for patching convenience/to fit in your cheats. You can also remove or bypass any modules you’re not using. That will help with CPU usage.
Audio and MIDI i/o, poly splits/merges, tuners, cable utils and visual modules are always free to add for VCVRaid events – these are not cheats!

This is an interesting collection of modules. What kind of machine are you running this on? Do you have any YouTube videos of this patch creating sounds, or any sound files? I’d really like to know.
My laptop isn’t lame. I’ve got more than 20GB free ram after loading RT Linux. After loading your patch, it just sits there for literally minutes with screen updates at 1 fps and pegging the CPU at 130%. It finally crashed before completely rendering all of the modules.
Have you thought about breaking this down into useful subunits? It would probably be more useful if people could get it up and running quickly.
This was specifically created in a collaborative way for a GSG.live event called VCVRaid! It’s brand new, nobody has used it to make music yet except Poke when he was testing it out. Yes it is HUGE! On purpose though. This is kind of a blank canvas and people are encouraged to carve away at it as they see fit. But fwiw I just opened it up no problem, running 3 threads and 30fps. We’ll find out VERY soon about general issues with RAM/CPU as our event participants start downloading it, I can tell you that!

Heyo Randy_Winchester. Everything beta units has said is true! My computer is running this happily. I have made indeed various musics with this patch. But the truth is i intend to spend the rest of the month practicing the this collection of modules. Along with the bunch of the community at GSG.live. We will all preform our own patching of these modules, one after the other on twitch.tv in a big ole performance across all of their individual channels . Along the way we share what we learned and all benefit from the fun. The best music from this collection of modules has yet to be made.
i Only have 16 gb of ram if that’s the important stat for you. My CPU is idling around 35 % at 55 FPS i dont have a super computer its a fairly average gaming computer. not even a custom rig. I am at a loss as to why your set up is not doing the thing.
I dont do the youtubes. I preform all my music live and improvised on https://www.twitch.tv/pokeyoureyesoutradio. and i do it as often as i can. many of my streams this month will be this rack. I have not thought about dividing it up as i its counter intuitive to getting a patch file with all available modules for our event.
Thanks folks.
I know, I’m just one data point, but for some reason this pegs my CPU whenever I load it. It could be something as simple as one module hoarding resources or something. It has happened to me twice, but without a bunch of details on my setup, it’s just anecdotal. I’ll try it on my desktop and throw a couple more cores at it.
I’m also checking out the GSG website. Thanks for that!!
Wish you luck! Counter-intuitively, there is a point where adding more cores dramatically reduces performance. You might want to actually reduce the number. PokeYourEyesOut’s suggestion is about halfway between 1 and whatever VCVRack tell you is the value for the “most modules”.
Well one data point still matters! I really appreciate the feedback Randy_winchester. Since this is an event i am not sure there much i can do about it this time. But i can think harder about it next time. We do all kinds of VCV events, this is the first time we asked the community to pick the modules. thats kind of why its so interesting. Believe it out not i cut out a pile of CPU intense modules. The CPU was absolutely part of my considerations. which is which your comment IS important. Trying to make it easy for the masses to use. Knowing you have a trouble lets me be more aware that someone else can also have that trouble . I suspect there is a module or two that is not playing nice with your Linux installation. Thanks for downloading and trying the rack anyway
Additional context:
This is the patch for the ‘Golden Shrimp Guild’ (GSG) VCV Raid 008 event (Nov 12 to Nov 26, 2025). The event is basically to try to make something cool with just these modules, with a couple of ‘cheats’ allowed. More info in the attached screenshot.
