The following notes regard the performance of the patch. See the notes to the YouTube video for technical details.

Begin with the Tact-1 controller set to 0 and the sequencer steps set to 4. The Length value of ALAN should be set to its default. Press the big Button to start the piece, then raise the controller to the desired level. Loop through the 4 steps twice, then set the steps to 12. Play through the 12 steps twice then set the steps to 16. Let the sequence play through that setting once, reset the steps to 4, and fade out during the repeats of that setting.

Change the Turing machine Length parameter to create subtle variations of its material. Other interesting effects can be heard by switching the bi/uni settings of the BPM LFOs and the Turing machine.

Other than these interactions, the patch plays itself.
