Four Sonnets

Four sonnets by Shakespeare as performed by four instances of the ascii sequencer module from TheXOR’s plugin for VCV Rack.

Another simple patch here: Four clocks control the sequencers; each sequencer drives an instrument made with a TinySine oscillator, a VCA, and an EG; and the mixer provides send/return channels for global reverb and delay effects. The oscillators have a single frequency control, the BPM LFO controls only the Clocked BPM, and the global effects are unmodulated. Incidentally, before reaching the oscillators the output from each sequencer is routed to an attenuverter and a quantizer.

The performance starts with all mixer channels muted except channel 1. The remaining three channels are unmuted in this sequence: 3, 2, 4. They should be unmuted at the 8th division of the clock divider connected to the Clk3 port of the master clock module. After any number of cycles, disconnect the Reset ports of sequencers 1 and 4. Again, after any number of cycles click on the big Button to stop the performance, preferably on a clear beat division.

The modules list:

Impromptu Modular – Clocked, Tact-1
wiqid anomalies – dual attenuverter
SynthKit – Clock Divider
RJModules – Button
TheXOR – ASCII
JW-Modules – Quantizer
AS – TinySine, Flow, CV2Trigger, DelayPlus
VCV – VCA-1, 8vert, Audio-8
Bogaudio – DGate, ADSR
Frozen Wasteland – BPM LFO
Autodafe – 1×8 Multi
Squinky Labs – Form, ExFor
NYSTHI – Mverb
stoermelder – uMap

To the devs I say, “Gratias maximas vobis ago”. The world is a better place with you in it.
