This patch began as a chance to show that sequencers are okay in generative! (They were called into question during the livestream we did on generative patching recently: https://youtu.be/XneDUIeAkNc)
In this patch, two different voices (panned to either side, with one being slightly higher pitched than the other, and a couple differences in the envelope, but otherwise the same PWM’d square waves into low-pass filters) alternate between a shift register (seven notes on the left, five on the right) and a dedicated sequence for each voice, to sort of anchor the generative elements to a theme.
There are also a lot of slooooooow modulations — of pulse-width, of the probability the shift registers select new notes, of the clock speed, of the filter frequency, etc..
Everything’s in the key of F major.
I do these livestreams at ungodly early hours on Saturdays (usually beginning around 8:30 AM US Eastern), if you ever want to stop in.
