A Waveshaped Bass

A simple patch for a bass sound in VCV Rack. The audio source is the Chebyshev oscillator from the Squinky Labs plugin. Its output is routed directly to the mixer and also to the SWave waveshaper from the DHE Modules plugin.

The oscillator’s ten partials are modulated by two LFO sources. The Bogaudio 8FO controls the first eight partials while the DHE Blossom module controls the last two. Neither module includes a direct connection to the master clock, but I have applied a clock signal to the 8FO’s Reset to keep its effect synchronized. The Blossom LFO runs with no such input.

The Scope illustrates the effect of the waveshaper. The oscillator’s unprocessed signal is blue, the waveshaper’s output is in red. During the video I mute the original signal first, then the waveshaper output. The difference can be heard clearly (though I probably should have applied the mutes in reverse order).

A global reverb is applied per channel. No other effects were applied.

Grateful thanks to them all, with a special nod to the very handy ChowDSP Credit module. All blessings upon all Rackstars, devs and normal (?) users alike.
