I recentlny saw Omri Cohen using Tangents to generate effects like whale noises by modulating the resonance knob. I decided to have a closer look at this module and started with a simple wind noise (Sample starts at: 4:00).

While playing around with effects, I noticed, that the “Vowel and speech synthesis” mode in macro oscillator 2 makes interesting sounds, if you are using a very low frequency (Sample starts at: 13:45). I added tangents with HP filter to highlight the high sounding klick tones. “Chrono Blob” multiplies this klicks and makes a nice stereo effect. For creating movement I decided to use the “AD Envelope Generator”, it is producing a curvy and asymmetrical triangular wave.

After playing around with effects I wanted to make a slow switch to a more melodic path. Therfore I first added a sequence with a frequently and rythmic spring like effect (Sample starts at: 26:00).
Then I added pads that are a little louder and put the effects further into the background (Sample starts at: 44:00). I also took the E-Chord to make the klicky effects sound more deeper.

In addition to the pads a added a moving melody with Woldemar VCO (Sample starts at: 45:30). I simply like how Woldemar sounds if you are moving the shape knob :).

Last but not least, I missed some low frequencies in the path, so I added a less rythmic kick and used another “macro oscillator 2” module to produce more frequently playing low tones for the bass sound. Finally I also added another “macro Oscillator 2” to support the Bass tones with a lower tone. In addition I added a sequence with the AD-signal to modulate this last module from time to time to produce higher tones. It looks like this is a nice addition to the spring effect at the top of the path. The path is finished at: 1:05:00
