Walked Through Dense Fog

Insert Mode Program. Parallel Routing. Program MIX 50%. PolySynth alongside PolySynth. Programmed for stereo use.

Two polyphonic synthesizers in parallel, differentiated by attack times, waveform selection, shifted intervals, filter characteristics, and especially modulation choices. Inspired by HydraSynth Deluxe explorations, minus the MPE.

EXP1 sweeps both PolySynth Pitch Wheels down an octave. EXP2 (optional) sweeps a small range of LFO Rate in PolkySynth1. Saved at Heel.

All three HotKnobs are pre-programmed for making fine adjustments to several of the effects. Customize the sound, using these variations:

* [P] HotKnob (+/-) – adjusts PolySynth1 Attack & Spread, with Attack, LFO Amount, LFO Rate & Spread in PolySynth2. [default = 60]
* [A] HotKnob (+/-) – adjusts Env Amount & Env Sens for PolySynth1. [default = 50].
* [B] HotKnob (+/-) – adjusts Env Amount & Env Sens for PolySynth 2. [default = 50].

Other options include momentary or latching FREEZE options [Release times set under Main Params] in either / both PolySynths. HS1 increases the Cutoff & Resonance in PolySynth2 to 75, for greater emphasis on the slow filter sweep.

See the Program Notes for more information on the PERFORM switch mappings.

    My ears are having a hard time believing the sounds that are coming out of the H90! This is such an interesting patch to explore and play with.

    Years ago I had a giant boss floorboard synth with the 13 pin cable that connected to a godin guitar, but the tracking was pretty bad and the sounds were uninspiring to me.

    The H90 is unreal. What a great time to play guitar.

    I can sympathize, Brent. I still have my GR-1 here, with a pile of faulty 13-pins and those finicky GK pickups. It was hardly worth the expense and struggles to tame it. Love / hate relationship.

    This PolySynth is a great build. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that it has close to the feature set that I would be looking for in a 1st keyboard synth. Top it off with controlling it all from my guitar & foot.

    I’m taken by the subtleties that one can wring out of it. Great tracking, yes, and very responsive to on-board control techniques. But how it follows the nuances of the input envelope is what amazes me, especially string decay. Very inspirational.
