Vocoder from scratch

This rather silly looking patch is a 17 band vocoder, made from scratch.

A vocoder is really a very simple effect: A bank of bandpass filters into slew limiters make up a basic spectral analyzer (using rectifiers before the slews to ensure that we’re measuring the absolute levels of each frequency band).

Then use the information from the spectral analyser to resynthesize the sound with oscillators tuned to the same frequencies as the bandpass filters. Here the oscillators are panned left and right alternately for a stereo effect.
