This stereo delay diverts a mono signal to two separate Sound Paths to simulate the changes that occur in sound waves that reach your ears from a moving object – i.e. amplitude changes, pitch shift from Doppler effect, etc.

Each configurable sound path moves the delayed sound images through the stereo field, increasing and decreasing their amplitude, panning speed, and pitch in a coordinated manner. Requires a stereo setup to be fully appreciated.

The audio routing is mono in (L) to stereo out. The controls on Page 0 allow you to change the amplitude, panning speed, and delay time for each path.

Please see my attached image documents in the comments below for control details. In short, Column 2 of the Control page allows you to control Amplitude (Row 1), Panning Speed (Row2), and Delay Time (Row 3) of Sound Path 1 and Column 7 allows the same for Sound Path 2.

I found that panning speeds below 1 Hz – in the .3 to .8 range produce the best feeling of image movement. Above that can also be interesting but just moves towards a different sort of effect.

Please note that I have also named and starred the key controls so that you can adjust them by linking a MIDI device – which I always find makes it easier when exploring or trying to perform a given patch.

If you haven’t explored this and are at all adventurous, I recommend that you look at this section of the Zoia tips and tricks doc and consider linking any kind of MIDI controller with assignable Continuous Controllers (CCs) – most MIDI keyboards or sequencers have these knobs or sliders.
