This effect is a tweak I made to the existing “Webcam” effect on patchstorage.
Since the webcam footage can’t get as large as the screen, I set it to be displayed in a 3×3 grid. On trigger, the camera feed will go along the grid left to right and top to bottom before returning to the starting square.
I use the Kano webcam that is described in velolala’s webcam effect post. Big props to them for doing the heavy lifting of this effect!

Disclaimer, there were people in the original thread that had difficulty getting the effect to work. It worked for me with the Kano webcam, but others used the same webcam without luck, so your mileage may vary.
To get the effect to work, I do the following:
have the EYESY powered off
plug in the Kano webcam into the USB
turn on the EYESY
switch to the webcam effect
Hopefully it should work out of the box, but if you have issues post them here and we may be able to figure them out.
Thank you for the nice patch! I was able to apply the patch, but it doesn’t do multi-screen and only one picture comes up.
How can I get multiple sheets to appear?

No worries! Sorry for not getting to this question sooner.
To be clear: this patch and the original one it’s based on can only ever show 1 video stream. This patch takes that 1 video stream and will move it along the 3×3 grid every time a sound trigger happens. So, if you have the retain button on the eyesy enabled, it’ll show the last image that was on the video stream if it ever moves to a new part of the 3×3 grid. So, it never streams more than 1 video at a time.
I made this patch to better use the full screen space of the eyesy, because the video player only takes up 1 of the 3×3 squares.

Interestingly: the original webcam mode (not this grid version) cannot run. And when I try and reinstall the original webcam mode, or install it side by side to this version: this mode (webcam grid) defaults to the no_camera png !
I’ve tried using a bot to adapt a new script for a mode that creates variations on trigger speed and a few other changes, but the same issues persist: any attempt to install a new or different mode to this one causes the original webcam grid to default to the no camera png.
