TapeBox

Stereo cassette tape emulation with stereo looper and dual delay. From completely clean to stupidly crunchy, it’s highly customizable but the controls are immediate and intuitive. Plug-and-play or tweak-for-days.

This patch is the result of a patch-from-scratch tutorial style video I made for YouTube (linked below). If you’re curious about anything in the patch it’s probably explained in the video or in the diagram: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hdqjpmxdgq91lfyoyihrn/TapeBox-diagram.jpg?rlkey=xpxumw8wey2oee1omggujy976&st=1i6tmi90&dl=0

Notes:

Stereo signal path throughout. Incoming audio, loopers and delay lines are all fed into the “tape processing” which includes od/distortion, filters, vibrato, noise and the vca ‘dropouts’ section.

There’s a vca to control the amount of incoming audio AND looper audio that are sent to the delays, but no wet/dry control outside of that.

Looper controls on the front page include record (no overdub), stop/clear, reverse, oct down, oct up.

also;
L stomp is record
M stomp is stop/clear

This is my third tape-inspired patch that I’m sharing. Honestly this one could probably replace “Tape” in most use cases (“tape” has reverb but this has both the looper and the delays which can be made to sound like reverb). “Tape Loops” is unique in having 4 independent loops and the dry signal is clean.

Lmk if you run into any weirdness with it. Otherwise I hope you enjoy!

Cheers – Andrew
