Experiments with synthesizing a rimshot! It’s three sine waves pitched to different frequencies and mixed and different volumes with different amounts of noise into their FM inputs, with some filtering to taste. Not perfect but I think with some more fussing this would sound juuust fine.

The kick is also a sine wave with an envelope into its FM input for that pitch bend sound. The chords are just some modulated saw waves through a chorus and reverb.

I’m controlling mutes with my computer keyboard, sending triggers to flip-flops to bring things in and out.
