Serdika is full polyphonic pad and choir synth support from 2 polyphonic up to 16 polyphonic channels support MIDI keyboard keys, faders and knobs. The synth have octave changer from -4 to 0 and from 0 to +4 (number 1). VCA is play role for synth throttle (number 2) this option is perfect for FX choir or pad from Nimbus x 4 (number 9) with left and right arrows you can change preset but with preset Creepy Combo (send) the synth is sound just fantastic. Right click on Nimbus you can change from monophonic to polyphonic processing but with monophonic option the synth is sound full poly. Polyphonic option require more CPU load also depending on chosen poly channels.
NOTE: with 2 or 3 poly channels the synth will cut off the sound if you are play more than 2, 3 MIDI keyboard keys. At the moment the synth is setup with 5 poly channels which is great for pad or choir with users with low CPU family. To change poly channels right click on Cardinal Host MIDI -> polyphony channels and chose with how poly channels you want to work, normally for pad or choir 5, 6 poly channels is more than enough.
You must modulate the sound coming from OSC and VCOs to get pad or choir but worry not you can chose to work with just OSC and VCO and 2 filters and you can use FM2 VCO just sound texture. Also Nimbus will give you very nice pad or choir. Mod wheel is control VCA (number 3) by turn up or down will change the sound on macro OSC 2 with VCA (number 3) you can adjust the sound changer.
Remember ! the more polyphonic channels you are use the synth (the patch) will require more and more CPU power if your CPU is low family CPUs keep poly channels to 4 or max. 6 no more than 5 poly channels, even with 5 poly channels you will get the sound you want. Also for users with low family CPUs in your DAW you can work with this synth with instrument window closed that will easy a bit your CPU.
I had a idea for pad and choir full poly synth for a while and in most synth software/plugins you can’t modulate the sound so much because that is setup from the develop. but with Cardinal Modular you have full control over everything.
