A polyrhythmic CV sequencer based on the Moog Subharmonicon, crafted for Euroburo!
I feel like this patch is redemption from the first time I tried to create a polyrhythmic sequencer, haha. When I first attempted it, it was when I first got the ZOIA pedal and had almost no clue what I was doing. Now after learning a whole lot about the workflow from last #Jamuary, I was ready to attempt it again, and I believe I came up with a pretty nifty solution!
INTERFACE:
On the very top of the button grid are two blue four-step sequencers, able to be freely programmed. Just below this is a row of colored buttons, four for each sequencer (green for seq. 1 and red for seq. 2). These buttons allow you to select which of the four clock dividers you want to use to trigger each sequencer, and you are able to select more than one (this gets real fun). In the bottom left-hand corner you will find a yellow box to set the sequence tempo. To start/stop the sequencers, use the left orange euro pushbutton.
STARRED SETTINGS:
This page is pretty handy to be able to set what divisions each of the four clock dividers use! I recommend using the starred menu instead of going to the clock divider page just so you don’t accidentally mess up the somewhat-fragile synchronization I’ve managed to get.
CV Outs:
You will find trigger and CV outputs for each sequence, color coordinated with the corresponding sequence. Triggers will output on the left and CVs will output on the right.
Now unfortunately this patch is not syncable with an external clock source. The heart of this patch runs on four clock divider modules and they are a pain in the butt to figure out how to sync them together in the first place. If anyone has ideas of how to get a clock divider to sync with an external clock I’m all ears, but for now this is all you get.
Also, I forgot to add MIDI outs to this patch, but I presume it may be pretty simple to add. I have dedicated pages to find trigger outputs as well as CV outputs respectively, and you should be able hook up the MIDI out modules directly to these outputs.
This patch uses up ~10% CPU, so you have plenty of room to build a synth or process effects on the rest of the pages. Get creative!
