Here is another flute improvisation accompanied by a VCV Rack patch based on my Subharmonicon emulator, again using the Befaco Even VCO version.

The interesting patch idea in this piece is the configuration of the VCF and VCA envelopes. The VCF EG has a slow attack and fast decay, and is applied negatively to the VCF cutoff. The VCA EG has a fast attack and slow decay. The overall cycle of of the VCA is longer than the VCF. So there is a hard attack with cutoff open, and then both the VCA and cutoff begin fading. When the VCF cycle ends the cutoff suddenly opens again, giving an apparent second attack.
The other interesting sound is from the Vger preset for the Valhalla Supermassive delay/reverb (used within the VCV Host-FX).
The melodic sequence is lengthened by adding the quantized VCO 1 CV from sequence 1 to the sequence 2 used for VCO 2, effectively making that sequence 16 steps instead of 4. And of course the complex polymeters create a constantly shifting rhythm.
The piece has a bridge section where voice 1 drops out and both sequences are applied to the Sub 2A divisor.
The modules external to the are used simply for the delay/reverb effect, and for starting/timing/stopping the patch, and activating the bridge section.
Count Modula FADE START/STOP button – starts/stops the patch, times the performance, and toggles the lights off/on.
NYSTHI top BIGBUTTON rectangular button – activates the bride section (red), or returns to the main song (green)
Use the emulator clock play button instead if you want to play the patch with the lights on.
