Two play-heads play a melody at slightly different tempi. The melodies will go out of phase to reach a new combined melody when the phases match again with one melody shifted one note ahead, at which point the play-heads stay in sync for a few measures.

The song has three sections: One with a 12 note melody, one with two 8 note melodies and one with a 4 note melody. Each section is played until their cycle has gone full circle and the melodies line up again.
