For this ambient patch I tried to capture the feel of traveling through space and watching everything pass you by.
The patch was created by using many polyphonic channels to modulate the panning, trigger time, attack, and decay of the “EG x VCA” module from Surge. Doing this for each channel allows for a wide variety of stereo sound placement as well as generative AD envelope events.
For the chords, I used the “Random” module from VCV with a low random spread to select between some predetermined chords on the “ChordCV” module using the “ADDR-SEQ.” To make sure the chords did not trigger too often, I used an AD envelope as a timer to arm a trigger buffer.
This was one of my more technical patches so it was fun to mess around with the polyphony of VCV and see what I could do with it.
