Stained Glass (VCP-2)

This patch generates a full composition without human interaction. It’s not ambient, as it has a definite development structure. It recalls 1970’s New York “downtown music”, specifically the early work of Philip Glass, Steve Reich and others performed at The Kitchen.

It features the Phase Modulation module from Submarine, which generates a very slow, changing waveform, used to generate all the melodies. A series of clocks control the overall structure (wave shape, phase, transposition and note articulation).

A full performance is about 1,600 “beats”; my preference is for recording is 60 BPM, which lasts nearly 27 minutes., and probably a bit slower for live performance. The version posted on YouTube (https://youtu.be/Oms-lDnVD_k) is 90 BPM, which still sounds OK but evolves faster.

Turns out this one uses a paid module (ReBit). Download the modified patch “Stained Glass (All free modules) VCP-2”.
