Squiddly Diddly Bubblers

Insert Mode Program. Configured for Series Routing (default) or optional Parallel Routing. Program MIX 45-50%. Sticky Tape into Diatonic. Programmed for stereo use.

1.8.5 update required for the two new algorithms: Aggravate & Sticky Tape.

AutoTune doubling, strange trills and arpeggios, due to manipulated Quantize. Still the best results from single note lines, dyads & perfect intervals, leading to the occasional doubling warble and offset entrances. Pleasantly unpredictable results from extra-scalar notes, random Key/Scale selection and string bending. [***TL;DR explanation below].

EXP1 sweeps Program Mix, plus Sticky Tape W&F Rate and Diatonic Pitch Mix. EXP2 (optional) sweeps Sticky Tape Flange Length with Diatonic Feedback A & B (saved at Heel).

All three HotKnobs are pre-programmed for making fine adjustments to several of the effects. Customize the sound, using these variations:

* [P] HotKnob (+/-) – adjust Sticky Tape Width and Delay A & B in Diatonic [default = 10]
* [A] HotKnob (+/-) – adjust Sticky Tape Compression, Rec Drive & Tape Speed [default = 80].
* [B] HotKnob (+/-) – change Diatonic Scale [default = 25].

* MIDI CC#1 [P] HotKnob
* MIDI CC#2 Sticky Tape Offset + W&F Amount
* MIDI CC#3 Filter
* MIDI CC#8 Sticky Tape Mix
* MIDI CC#40 Diatonic Mix
* MIDI CC#80 Diatonic Quantize

Other options include FLANGE for Sticky Tape, key LEARN for Diatonic on both pages, as a performance technique. HS1 (Quant OFF) can become glides or deep vibrato. HS2 adds upper & lower octaves to the process, cutting through with the background note clusters.

See the Program Notes for more information on the PERFORM switch mappings.

***[TL;DR/] NOTES: Even with both Pitch A & B set to Unison at base settings, Quantize still wants to conform to the current Key/Scale selection (default here is Em ). The faster & further from that note template that deviates, the more confused Quantize gets during its snap-to-scale attempts.

Enter Sticky Tape – with its wide & rapid pitch-warping capabilities – and challenge Diatonic to try and figure all that out in real-time. EXP1 use changes the rate of that deep pitch-warping, resulting in all kinds of squiggly note phrases racing in & out of the background. Select Quantize=OFF [CC#80] for gliding portamento effects between generated notes. [/TL;DR].
