Snappy Patch

The Snappy Patch is a sample playback and manipulation tool where the sample playback can be “snapped” to a grid. It works by snapping playback to precise points in the audio file, controlled by a user-defined curve. It can generate rhythmic, grid-aligned playback, making it ideal for beat slicing and granular synthesis.

How it works: The user can load a sample into the “buffer” object. The waveform will be displayed, allowing visual feedback for editing and playback. The multi-slider object allows the user to draw a curve that dictates how playback modulation will behave (how the playback modulation will be aligned and how it will behave). The “phasor” object generates a ramp signal synchronized to the tempo. This ensures playback or grid snapping occurs in time with the beat. The “rampsmooth” object ensures smooth transitions between points on the curve.

In short, this patch is great for generating unique variations of an original sample by dynamically modulating playback position. Try it with a drum loop and see !
