Simple Strum (Osmose)

Here’s one of a number of ways to produce a strumming effect (little 4-note arpeggio) with configurable chord, strum speed and timbre. After the strum Z&Y kick in to sustain the tone, though with a quick press and release Z&Y are not involved and the release controller controls the sustain. The strummed notes enter in slightly decreasing amplitude.

The lightest touch at your minimal sensitivity will always trigger all notes of the strum in order.

Press lightly to just have the strum. Continue pressing to play the notes you set as a 4 Oscillator chord.

Macro Controllers:
i (StrumSpeed): Controls the frequency of the shape generator-based pulse chain used to create the strum.

ii (Release): Controls the release time of the strummed notes when quickly pressing and releasing (if you continue to press Z & Y) the Oscillators will simply play as normal.

iii (Timbre): Controls the Spectral Balance of the four oscillators used for the strum.

iv (Note2): Allows you to change the second note of the strum. (The first note will always be base X fundamental frequency). Quantized to the semitone.

iv (Note3): Allows you to change the third note of the strum. Quantized to the semitone.

iv (Note4): Allows you to change the fourth note of the strum. Quantized to the semitone.

Ped 1: Sustain
Ped2/Mod: StrumSpeed (i)

Note:
The Osmose “notenstrum” preset does something similar, but it uses different Z formulas on outputs that bring in (make it increment from 0) at different pressures tied to shape generators that have stepped triggers to match. This allows the strum to follow the speed of Z pressure making for a more natural strum than the fixed strum interval used here that triggers based on StrumSpeed.
