playing around with unfamiliar modules
I rarely do melodies like this, but I discovered a few tricks in creating the ostinato here:
* You can use the Count Modula set/reset flip flop together with a probabilistic sequencer to modulate the probabilities so that if this note goes then those others will be more/less likely.
* I summed the sequence with the output of a sequential switch so that every 4 bars, the notes in the ostinato are offset by a random value.
I also used some randomly modulated bandpass filters to create some swimming headroom in the underlying drone (which sounds remarkably like a shruti to my ear).
