QUICK SAMPLER V2

At first I thought a super simple sampler patch would be cool, but then I realized that I could still add a solid amount of features while still keeping it pretty simple, so I opted for that.

This patch uses 8 looper modules that can be used to quickly capture audio clips, which can then be triggered with pushbuttons, via midi, or with the built in sequencer.

This new v2 version has all of the same features, but more.

Starting with the bottom row of the main page (page zero)
The left orange block determines if the sequencer is receiving clock internally, or externally. When you press it, it will turn pink, and the Stop/Start button(s) will disappear, indicating that it’s in external clock mode.

The yellow block next to it (middle of the 3) is the internal BPM speed, and the red block next to the right is the Start/Stop button, which turns green for start, and red for stop. I added another Start/Stop button on the 2nd sequencer page for convenience.

The horizontal row of red buttons are the 8 loop/sample record buttons, which only record while they are being pressed down, and stop recording when the buttons are released.

The horizontal pink row will put each looper into reverse mode when they are latched in the ON position

The horizontal white row will change the pitch/speed of each corresponding looper.

The horizontal green row will trigger one-shot playback of each corresponding looper.

The next “SEQ” page is the internal sequencer, which again, can receive clock internally and externally. Due to the 8×5 grid layout, with 32 steps on a sequencer it only has enough room to show 6 sequencer tracks. If you reduce the step count of the sequencer you will find 8 enabled tracks that are already hooked up to the corresponding tracks, but by default it only has the first 6 tracks. The bottom left red block is a secondary Start/Stop button that is synced with the Start/Stop on the 1st page.

The following “AUDIO ROUTING” page is for… you guessed it: audio routing. The top left block is the left audio input, which leads to the white VCA on the bottom left. This white VCA leads to all the loopers, so if you’d like to add effects before the loop, then place/connect effects between these white modules. If you’d like to add effects after the loopers, place them between the red modules on the right side of this page.

Next you have the “MIDI IN MODULES” page for midi note input routing.
By default they are set to channels 1-8, but I personally have a different method for routing midi in scenarios like this that can help with saving midi channels. My method would go something like this:

midi note in module 1: set to midi channel 1 in module settings, then set high note:60, and low note:60 so that the module will only respond to incoming note #60. Then repeat for the next 7 midi note in modules, but make them “61”, then “62” etc. This method eliminates the need to use up several midi channels. But that part is up to you.

The loopers are set to record a maximum of 16 seconds each.

Have fun!
