Simple AD Request

Hello, is it possible to assign attack and decay controlling the amp to 2 macros? if so what would be the most basic way to do this?

Good question, thanks. I assume you are asking this with regards to the Osmose. Let me know if my assumption is wrong.

I believe this should be possible. So far I have assigned value of Z directly to the outputs. But I do not see any reason why this cannot be a formula (and thus also a macro). On the Osmose the concept of “envelopes” changes fundamentally, as the key-bed makes it possible to generate envelopes manually per note.

I am (slowly) learning the EaganMatrix / Osmose combination and my time is limited but I am planning to spent some time this Easter weekend. I will keep you posted.

Thank you Gerry, this is ment to be used with the EaganMatrix Eurorack Module, but I assume it would be the same process in the editor, so I’m not intending to use any keys like you mentioned with Osmose, I only need to reach a Macro by it’s respected CC so that way I would have control over AD. I’m looking forward to if this is achievable!

Attack and Decay are programmed in the matrix, not assignable. Say more about what you want to do on EaganMatrix module? On the module you would typically gate through W and then an SG can be used to create an envelope attack and a number of things to create a decay. Can you give a specific example on what you want to do?

Perhaps you are asking can you assign two macro controllers, one to adjust the attack (normally programmed with a single cycle shape generator) of say the output of an oscillator and the other to adjust the decay? In the EaganMatrix you cannot actually assign an ADSR as an entity to anything. You must program each piece of it. Attacks are easy, decays are more problematic but possible. Decay can be easily simulated with Adjusting persistence. I’ll create an EaganMatrix module based preset as this would need to be done with CV inputs, not keys as noted.

I posted an example of how you can create an ADSR envelope. It has ability to be just a AD if you set it that way. This is one of a few ways to add envelopes to things in the EaganMatrix.

Thanks Richard, great I’ll look into how you program envelopes. I do have a Eaganmatrix module on order (via MIDI Amsterdam) since September last year, but am still waiting for news when it is available. So the Osmose it is for the time being ;-)

I’ve tried Richard’s patch on the Osmose and it works really well. Not sure how it will work on the module. Could you let us know please?
