Pseudo Gamelan

Playing around with alternate tunings. Escape from 12 TET. ‘Gamelan‘ flavour, obvs have no idea of the formal structures or conventions of traditional gamelan but it was fun anyway.

    After some quick research …
Classic Gamelan Orchester is 4,5 or 7 tones per octave …
Pitch is really odd from those gong things
    If basic pitch is „f“
    Second is 1,7 f
    3rd is 2,29 f

Oddly I can’t find out what the other pitches are supposed to be

In that big pack of .scl file everybody uses are gamelan scale and tunings to sniff out …
    Hope that helps

I think I copied the scale from ScaleGen, Gamelan Pelog average. Really this was just an exercise in microtuning, maybe there will be a dedicated module one day with scale import, but I’d explore just patching something together.
I didn’t really want to get to involved in studying Gamelan, even though I like it very much, so it’s Gamelan-ish.
