There isn’t really a fixed pattern — it keeps changing because of the Proteus, which is actually part of what I like about it. Technically, the Diatonic CV would already be enough, but when you have the modules available it’s always fun to experiment. That’s how the Proteus came into play.

Since the Proteus itself doesn’t output polyphony, I added the Assign module next and set it to three voices. It then controls the Diatonic polyphonically, which goes through the Arp and into the VCO.

So in a way it’s a bit redundant, but I simply liked the result better that way. And in the end that’s what matters most — it just has to sound good to you and be fun to explore :)

To be honest I’m not completely sure what you meant by layering in the mix.

For texture and space (psy) I mainly used Supercell and a bit of echo. That creates some additional layers and movement around the main sequence.

Most of the variation actually comes from the patch itself and the modulation rather than stacking a lot of different voices.
