The Phase Trem patch was referenced in the June 2023 post on the Empress Effects blog.
It was loosely inspired by the effect of rapidly and randomly changing a parametric EQ band in a DAW channel strip.
This is recreated in ZOIA with a midrange boost on a Tone Control module for which the frequency is controlled by an LFO. A second LFO controls the output volume, and the combined effect is reminiscent of a harmonic tremolo.
Compression, overdrive, and hall reverb complete the sound. Empty spaces on the first page are filled with Pixel modules connected to the audio input, just because.
