P 279 Ian Boddy Serge four voice morphing patch MOD III

“The note from the original patch created in VCV by Omri Cohen:
Ian Boddy – Serge four-voice morphing patch, P.279
“This patch forms the basis of much of Ian Boddy’s original Tone Science album, which features self-playing aleatoric compositions. He describes the patch as follows:
“Tune four independent VCOs to a scale or mode. A nice one, for example, is a diminished scale of C, Eb, Gb, A.””
Patch the VCOs in pairs through a crossfader and use two nonsynchronous bipolar LFOs to crossfade between the two pairs of oscillators. You thus have two outputs, which are the two pairs of VCOs being crossfaded or morphed.”
This is the third pass at a modification of Omri’s original.
Highlights of the patch include:
The VCV VCOs were replaced with Blamsoft’s Wave. The reason for the replacement was to created opportunity to modify additional parameters in the spirit if the “nonsynchronous modulation/crossfading”
Each Wave has its own Quantum tuned to a different diminished scale (EM, GM, FM, G#M) in order to create more movement in the pitch. Also, the wave form is shifted with each step of ADDR-SEQ by BogAudio.
The levels on the second and third MIX4 are also being controlled by separate LLFOs.
At about the 5 min mark I reset all the LFOs “just for grins”.
The recording finishes without the second and third MIX4s in order to get a feel for the original intention.
Using the words of Ian Boddy “The result is self-generating, slowly morphing soundscape that will never ever repeat itself exactly.”
