Osmose Basic OSC

This is a fully functional preset used as Tutorial #1 in the upcoming “Osmose Preset Cookbook”. It uses a single DSF OSC and illustrated how to program with Y (Aftertouch) and Z in a few ways. It also illustrates how to:
1. Do a simple self-modulation
2. Add Y+Z dynamic Spectral Balance (Timbre) Adjustment
3. Program a full crescendo through the aftertouch area with Y+Z)
4. Add simple vibrato with separate rate control as frequency multiplier.
5. Add a simple tapped chorus using alternating left and right tap outputs 180 degrees out of phase (used in a number of Osmose system presets)
6. Add simple feedback delay (to a VoiceDelay in this case)
7. Fix scale SL/SR outputs to adjust for desired output level (often done dynamically in presets as well)

Macro Controllers:
i: (modAmt) – Adjusts the amount of self modulation OSC1 feeds back into itself (C) and also amount of OSC that is sent into the delay.

ii: (chorus) – brings in and increases the Chorus effect that applies SG based modulation to the two delay taps 180 degrees out of phase where each tap is set to a different delay percentage. The speed of the modulation using SG1 is also increased as you turn up ii as well as the amount of chorus depth applied (E, F, G and D).

iii: (feedback) – Adjusts the amount of delay feedback sent back into the Voice Delay (H).

iv: (Timbre) – Adjusts the amount of Spectral Balance (SpB) change applied through Y+Z adjustment (formula A)

v: (vibrato) – Adjusts the depth of vibrato (SG2 based frequency modulation) applied to the OSC’s F column as an offset (J)

vi: (vibratoRate) – Adjusts the speed of the vibrato (I). Note that Y adds 2 Hz to vibrato speed on Aftertouch.

Aftertouch Effects:
1. Adds volume on pressure to what Z already has applied (B)

2. Adds additional vibrato speed to a max of 2Hz in aftertouch area if vibrato is on (I).

3. Adds additional Spectral Balance (up to 0.3) which is noticeable if not self-modulation is applied, else this will be difficult to hear through the already complex tone created by the modAmt control (A).

A very useful and inspiring patch for the Osmose. Very inspiring once I tweaked it and added aerial reverb :)
    Thank you Richard
