Oscilloscope

(UPDATED: triggering and scaling.) Bare-bones oscilloscope view for the Organelle. Passes through incoming audio and displays its waveform on the screen.

• Knob 1 sets X scale in discrete increments of 1x, 2x, 4x.
• Knob 2 sets Y scale continously up to 40db.
• Knob 3 sets balance, especially useful for mono signals on one channel only.
• Knob 4 sets trigger level.

Hold Aux to freeze display.

What a brilliant idea – why didn’t I think of it. I’m sure many Organelle users have them hardwired on an FX send – what great utility to have!

Brilliant! I agree. This is really useful.

Putting a tuner on this would be pretty cool, but think there’s other patches that do that.

Thanks! Adding a tuner is a great idea—and it would give the Aux button something useful to do =)
I’ll add one if I have some time to spare this weekend.

lovely tool. Maybe it would make sense to add an input level control to knob 1. I tried singing into the Organelle using the internal microphone and it didn’t even bother to show more than a flat line. Even a naked guitar via cable, or a small Korg Monotron, is a bit low in signal strength. It would be great if one could turn a knob to boost the signal until it really shows a good curve.
That said, this comes close to something I’ve wanted to have for a while: a tool that simply displays the incoming signal strength. In a long chain of effect pedals for example, it is sometimes too low at the end, or it is too loud and distorts, and sometimes it is cumbersome to find which levels to tweak. I could put the Organelle into different positions in the chain to see how much signal is coming in. It would be great if this was displayed numerically somehow, and/or as a bar, but the pure oscillator curve is already good for that

Never got the time to add a tuner unfortunately, but at least I’ve added scaling and triggers which should make it a bit more useful.
(The patch is quite messy, I edited it on my iPad, which is not one of the really big ones =)
