Orchid-O

Orchid-O is a MIDI chord generator for the Organelle . It is heavily inspired by Tame Impala’s and Telepathic Instruments’ Orchid. It produces chords, bass lines, and arpeggios from a 12-key playfield, with a built-in chord looper that syncs to MIDI clock or runs on its own tempo.

– Upper 12 keys — Playfield. Each key is a scale degree or chromatic note. Press a key to play the current chord type rooted there. Notes sound while the key is held; release to stop.
– Lower 12 keys (1–12) — Control surface. Change chord type, extensions, bass, loop.
– AUX — Cycle through pages (short press).
– Knobs K1–K4 — Context-sensitive per page. Knobs use soft-takeover: move past the current value before they engage.

The patch is written in C++ and has been tested on Organelle M.

Awesome patch! I have been looking for something like this for a long time!
I am having a problem with key mode though… it doesn’t seem to lock the chords into anything like a diatonic chord structure, it just locks all the keys in to major (or what ever is selected).
So you get Cmaj, Dmaj, Emaj, Fmaj, Gmaj, Amaj, Bmaj…. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII’.
So all locked into what ever chord type you have chosen.
Is there a way to choose a diatonic set of chords, like; Cmaj, Dmin, Emin, Fmaj, Gmaj, Amin, Bdim7? I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii’?
I tried using the key mode controls, but they don’t seem to work the way you would expect.
    I’m probably missing something.
