Following on from my making the JX8P clone I wanted to tackle something a bit simpler and opted for the Oberheim SEM. I’ve never owned a SEM or used the real hardware but have toyed around with some of the plugin emulations. As such I don’t have a great familiarity with the sound and feel of the original. That said I have tried to faithfully recreate the SEM’s architecture using only free modules in VCV. Luckily for me the excellent Surge XT collection features Oberheim filter emulations.

I took some small liberties here by adding a chorus and reverb to the chain for some added lushness, and as always this patch was made possible thanks to MindMeld’s PatchMaster modules.
