Mude v1

Mude is inspired by the Chase Bliss Mood mk2.

—–The Front Panel—–
The front panel follows the layout of the Mood mk2 using the Reverb (left side) and Tape mode (right side). At center are additional micro looper controls.

Reverb Side—–
Along the left side are the two Reverb controls, Mix and Decay. The Reverb can be used independent of the micro-looper and is engaged by the left footswitch. Next to the reverb engage pixel is a pushbutton (?) which will route the dry input around the Reverb when lit, applying it to the micro-loop only.

Micro-Looper Side—–
The micro-looper is always recording in the background, with the length set by the Clock knob (lower center). The Clock knob all the way left sets the record time to 32seconds, and all the way right at 1 second. A pixel at the lower right flashes red everytime the loop resets. A pixel just to the left of this (0), can be pressed to show the record cycle position. Engage playback close to the end of the cycle for the longest loop. Engaging playback toward the begining of this cycle will result in a very short loop.
Press the right footswitch to engage Playback mode. The lower right pixel will turn green to indicate playback mode (sorry no overdub yet). The clock knob currently has no function while in playback mode.

The top center knob is the micro-looper Mix knob. The top left sets the Length of playback of the captured loop. Set at maximum to play the entire recording.

The lower right knob is the micro-loop Modify knob. Right of center will playback at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, and 4x speeds, for cool octave options (0.63 is normal). Left of center provides the same octave shifts but the recording will be played in reverse.

Preset saving—–
Holding the center footswitch will save a preset for settings on all controls after release, pixels will flash along the right side to indicate a successful preset save. Press the center footswitch to alternate between current knob settings and any previously saved preset settings. A green pixel at lower center indicates preset mode is active. Any settings saved as a preset will be maintained if the patch is saved before powering down.

>>>Preset mode is currently unstable. The patch can crash in Preset mode when stopping playback. Otherwise the patch is stable. Patch comming soon.

I hope you enjoy. As always, feedback is welcome.

Loving the patch, I’m curious if it locks up sometimes? I’m not tech minded but I feel sometimes like it freezes and I have to reload it. It could just be me overloading it by pressing too many buttons but thought I should mention it.

    Manmaas,

I haven’t experienced any freezing. Is it not responding, or do you get the yellow LEDs indicating a DSP overload? Could be an odd sequence of events with the loopers. I’ll admit the background looper control is a bit unrefined. I’ll do some more testing to see if I can cause this issue to happen. If anyone else finds bugs, please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Hello everyone,
I just finished some testing. I was able to reproduce the crashing stated above, only when:

Stopping loop playback, while Preset mode is engaged.

It crashes regardless of the reverb state. Using the patch in normal mode is stable as far as I can tell. I’ll look into patching this, and adding more features soon. In the meantime, switch out of Preset mode if planning to record something new.

If I put the clock at 0 and play around with length and modify, it almost always crashes when I move modify value. Maybe this helps for debug?
