Mountain Idyll

Inspired by the idea of swarm intelligence and generative chaos, this patch uses 4 Rings as oscillators. The pitch and timbre of the oscillators are intercorrelated by logic and chaos like bird flocking. The oscillators are then feed into clouds to create an additional layer of generative ambience.

Be patient, sometimes Clouds freezes before there is any sound.

Hmmm, I tried this patch and did not get much out of it, so is there a certain order/method to using it. I’m sure it does some marvellous things but I haven’t got there yet.

This is a generative patch, so most of the musical decisions are made by computer instead of you. Also, this is more or less a demo of ways in using chaos module as discussed in VCV Rack forum.

e.g. Generative melody with variable slew controlled by chaos – Rings v/oct input
e.g. Generative octave switch & rhythm based on the clock and chaos – Rings strum input
e.g. Quantized note based on Filter Resonant Envelope modulated by chaos – Clouds v/oct input

I already thought that Rampage and the Texture Synthesizer were at work. Really beautiful ambient sounds, I like it very much. I don’t know the Quand VC-Polarizer and the S&H from Count Modula yet. I’ll have to take a closer look at these modules :)
