I’ve been watching a few tutorials on snare synthesis and was playing around a bit to get this working. It’s best with a midi note around -1 octave.

I thought it would be a fun project to ask ChatGPT how to synthesize a real acoustic drum sound in mirack and it gave a pretty decent framework for this project.

It can be tweaked and modified to get different toms too. You can tune the drum with a few different tuning methods.

It’s velocity sensitive, so it should be reasonably dynamic to play. Again, sensitivity with everything can be tuned using the attenuators.

The snare rattle also goes through a delay feedback to give it a nice ring now.
