Minor Sleep Deprivation – Grid based granular looper

Now that we can share pages, I present to you my grid controller template!

Basically, the whole first page is covered in pushbuttons that can fade between 4 different settings or presets.

This is used in a granular patch, but it would be quite easy to make it control anything. In this version, each “side” of the grid’s rectangle is one of the 4 controls at full, as indicated by the visual grid. It drops down linearly to reach 0 at the opposing side… I dunno if I’m making sense. I feel like I am, but feel free to ask questions!

This first patch is called Minor Sleep Deprivation. It’s the KaossPad inspired matrix that is applied to different settings on the Granular Module to make neat stutters and glitches.

Blue is grain size
Magenta is grain position
Cyan is texture
White is density

You also get a mix control and a starting value control (labeled Manual) for each of the settings.

The left footswitches freezes the buffer.
You can control the pitch with a MIDI keyboard, with aftertouch bends.
The Mod wheel controls stereo offset of the grain position.

Hi Simon! The Soundcloud clip sounds great, but I downloaded the patch and I can’t figure out how to use it. I’m plugging a midi keyboard and my guitar and nothing seems to happen with these two sources. Maybe you can explain how you use this patch?
    Thanks!
