micronOSC is a standalone TouchOSC (Mk2) layout that turns an iPad, or any TouchOSC device, into a full bidirectional editor for the Alesis Micron. Everything runs directly on the device — no computer, no Max/MSP, no extra software in the chain.
Features:
Live NRPN control: every knob, slider and switch sends MIDI as you move it.
SysEx sync: pulls a full patch dump from the Micron and updates the whole layout to match the real state of the synth.
AUTO / REFRESH sync per page: AUTO automatically re-syncs on a detected program change; REFRESH forces it on demand.
Automatic MIDI channel detection.
16 pages covering oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, effects and more.
Compatibility:
Built for the Alesis Micron. Should also work with the Alesis Ion and Akai Miniak, since all three share essentially the same SysEx architecture (untested on those, feedback welcome).
Requirements:
TouchOSC (Mk2)
A MIDI interface connecting your device to the synth (USB-MIDI recommended; see the repo for Bluetooth SysEx limitations)
Credits:
Built on the SysEx mapping, NRPN architecture and panel design from the original Miniak Patch Editor (Max/MSP, Akai Miniak) by Will Crossland https://github.com/crosslandwa/miniak-patch-editor , using a TouchOSC panel originally designed by Adam Neddo. Adapted into a standalone layout for the Alesis Micron and published with their consent. Full credits and documentation in the repo.
Free and open-source under GPL-3.0.
