Well, in the northern hemisphere summer is all but gone but hang on to a bit with this attempt to capture a little of the atmosphere.
Nothing too exciting technically, but some may not have come across replacing the mute action with a fade (right click the channel number and select your fade time) in MindMeld’s MixMaster and the polyphonic cabling to trigger them.
Crickets and cicadas really are the soundscape of summer here but I had trouble getting the sound right. Lucky for me V. Hunter Adams must have put in a serious hour or two into synthesizing the song of the snowy cricket. https://vanhunteradams.com/Pico/Cricket/Cricket_synthesis.html. AI might have given a solution but I wouldn’t have learned much and AI wouldn’t have added an appendix on cricket steganography!
Count Modula’s Chances gets used a three times, the upper left one triggering the chords at 20%. The remaining 80% get passed to the lower left one donging a gong 10% of those. My aim was to heavily weight the gong to dong during silences between the chords. I’m not sure about the maths but it seems to work.
