Kinetic Chirping (Simple Preset Series)

Instructional Preset. (Bring out your Predator on Y). Simple use of Kinetic model excited with noise pulses. Property values are set to zero so you can experiment over full ranges with Macro Controllers set to Kinetic parameters that will change sound (sometimes subtly) for this preset: Spring Constant, Mass, Height, Viscosity, BowSpeed and Static Friction. Y increases repetition speed. You can get very animalistic chirping effects.

Instructions: Experiment with Kinetic control to change sound. Y induces repetitions so works well with Osmose Aftertouch to bring in the chirps. For Osmose use a quick press to get to Aftertouch as soon as possible for repeated chirps. On Continuum, chirping will be brought in at increasing speed as you move up Y (and you can start any point in Y to trigger chirping at that speed).

Adjust Formula V Persistence to lessen or add more sustain on release. Uses Extended reverb.

Macro Controllers:
Change the following Kinetic Properties.
i = SpringConst (Spring Constant)
ii = Mass
iii = Height
iv = Viscosity
v = BowSpeed
vi = StaticFriction

Surface:
X = Pitch (though depending on setting can be more “pitchy” or less)
Y = Increases Chirping repetition. Default repetition before AfterTouch on Osmose is set to repeat every 10 seconds. If you want default rate higher, adjust Y min value in Formula B.
Z = Volume.

Ped1: Sus
Ped2: Sos2
