A very simple patch compared to many other miRack examples, but very expressive and versatile.
*** NOTE: This patch will not make any sound unless a non-zero input is present on MIDI CC2 (breath control).
The patch also responds to pitchbend, portamento, and modwheel. I usually re-map my EWI so that the pitchbend-up thumb plate sends CC1/modwheel for this purpose.
Even though this patch is based entirely on traditional analog synthesis, using simple sine/tri/saw/square waves as the sound source, it can produce very acoustic-like tones, hinting at the character of many orchestral instruments, including flutes, reeds, strings and brass. The magic secret is cleverly-applied phase distortion, courtesy of the TiARE synth module by Bidoo. I’m using breath pressure to modulate the X-axis of distortion, and modwheel for the Y-axis. With practice, this combination can morph smoothly between many different tone colors.
How do I download this for Mac iOS? I have the miRACK application but when I touch this download stripe at the bottom of this page nothing happens. I have never downloaded a patch for an iOS app before, how do I do this? I have a wind controller and would love to try this but I’m having no luck. Thank you.
Just to add, when I click on download I do get a download button and I touch it and then the button disappears. It says it’s a zip file but I don’t know where the zip files go on an iPad. It really sounds great, I mean really terrific and I’d love to try it out, but I have no idea how to make this patch connect with the synthesizer.
Never mind, I figured it out. Sorry for being an iPad newbie.
Sorry that I missed this! Glad you figured it out.
