InductiveCydrumsRandomizer

This is a max (standalone) randomizer patch for the Sonicware Cydrums. Set the midi port to your Cydrums, and set the channel to the pad you want to edit (default is 1-8).

Perc ADSR Envelope will set the current sound’s amp envelope to a fairly short percussive type envelope. The Strip Params section is useful after you randomize a sound. Often it will be panned strange, or have not-so-useful gain settings. You can quickly hit the pan and level strips if the random sound is silent.

The Randomize All button randomizes everything in the Randomize Section at once. You can also randomize sections individually. The Randomize EFX button is separate because the fx section is per pattern, not per sound.

If you set your program channel to something besides the default (channel 14) you will have to open the patch, switch to patching mode, and change the channel in the dropbox at the top of the patch.

Hope this is useful to other people. I never expect these randomizers to spit out usable sounds. For me the point is to start from new interesting places instead of always starting from the same init patch. I suggest using this patch to make new starting points to push your sound design into different directions. Good luck.

If anyone thinks of anything else they would like added to this let me know and I’ll see what I can do
