Im OK

“Im OK” is a generative music synth based patch, I’ll detail a bit of how it’s made here using my patch notes, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I’ll divide the patch as I do in my video, in sections, and I’ll add some settings and extra info at the end.

SYNTH SECTION:
Random module goes to quantizer (set to 19.99% to shorten range on the high frequencies), and this sends pitch/note information to the first S&H module, where the shift register starts. There’s four S&H modules in the chain, and each sends out to an oscillator.

Simultaneously, these send audio to each of their ADSR modules, triggered by the “Main Tempo” LFO. Then there’s the slew limiters and VCAs so audio comes in in swells. VCAs connect to the audio mixer module on page four.

There’s also two value module that modify the lower range of frequencies for the oscillators. “low” connects to all four oscillators, and “low push” just to oscillators 2 and 3.

DRUM SECTION:
“Main Tempo” LFO send time to the clock divider module. This goes to an “in switch” that send gate signal to a sequencer.

The sequencer sends gates to two samplers for a percussion inspired element although these could be used for whatever you like. Track one goes to one sampler, and track two to the other one.

On page cero you can find two extra buttons on the lower right side of the grid. “seq start” pushbutton uses the “in switch” to turn the sequencer on/off, and “seq reset” queues the sequencer start. These allows you to play simply stop the sequencer and jump back in exactly where you left, or reset it while playing.

FX-OUT SECTION:
Mixer module send audio to a reverse delay, then to a plate reverb, and finally to a couple low-pass filters before the output.

There’s also two “panners”, one controls the panning movement of tracks 1 and 4, plus the duty cycle in oscillator 2 (set to 30.54%). The other one controls panning of tracks 2 and 3, plus the duty cycle of oscillator 4 (set to 16.98%).

The “Main Tempo” LFO also send a clock signal to a small sequencer that changes the reverse delay pitch. This can be modified, but it’s default configuration goes from 0 semitones, to +10 cents, and +12 semitones.

OTHER CONTROLS:
On page cero you can other pushbuttons and value modules for various settings within the patch.

Four green pushbuttons that work as mutes.

“Output vol” value module set to control output volume, set completely clockwise to 1, audio should be output around 0dB. (Set to 83.33%)

“filter cut” value module controls both frequency cutoff for the filters at the end of the signal chain.

OTHER SETTINGS:
-Quantizer is set to D M Penta scale.
-Clock divider dividend is set to 4*/2, divisor to 4/2*.
-“low” value pushes the notes two octaves up.
-“low push” goes up and extra 5th if I remember correctly…
-ADSRs and slew limiters are set randomly to taste.
-Panning LFOs are also set to taste just to get some subtle motion.
-On the demo you can hear sampler 1 play a kick, and sampler 2 a rim, both in mono. (Samples are not included)

*This patch uses elements from the 5.0 update*
