Glacial is a granular texture and time-stretch implementation for Flexi. It won’t rival the best time stretch algorithms and it isn’t PaulStretch, but it’s more than capable of squeezing some extra length of out of samples.

How it works: a unisoned LFO with varying frequency and phase per voice clocks a gate signal which triggers a Flexi. With 8 voices, you have 8 grains retriggering at varying rates per voices. Adjusting the frequency and modulating sample offset with LFOs and envelopes achieves different textures and quality of time stretching, and amount of stretching.

Unison: Number of voices controls how many grains are active. Even a relatively low maximum of 8 gets pretty dense. Light detuning gets a nice chorus sound.

Grain size: LFO adjusts how often the grains retrigger, effectively grain size. All to taste, but for many samples the safe spot appears to be anywhere from 4-20 HZ. Higher frequencies benefit from additional tweaking of envelopes and Scan LFO.

Modulators:
Time stretch LFO scans through the sample offset position. Adds in anything from mild movement to playing through an entire sample at incredibly slow or fast speeds.

Size Envelope modulates the grain size(frequency) and is useful for transient sounds. Start with a slow frequency to trigger the whole transient sound, then ramp up to granular sustain.

Scan envelope modulates sample offset. Useful for moving through a portion of a sample and resting on the end of the envelope.

Smoothing: optional smoothing (on by default) uses a graphic modulator to declick retriggering sample. You can fade between the smoothed and rough option.

Scale: (hidden) this is to scale the Voice number parameter from the unison module. Explore how changing both the module setting and the modulations on the grain controls changes the sound (I think it sounds best as is, but you can lower Scale mod on frequency the higher it goes)

Effects: added just as a bonus, but the effect lends itself to reverb and the lofi character of the decimator. EQ to taste.
