A 5/4 generative patch with nothing random in it.
The groove is ten eighth-note steps on an ADDR-SEQ, accented on 1, 4, 5, 7 and 9 — every beat but the second, which lands one eighth late. Those steps are voltages rather than gates, and they go to Surge XT’s wavetable position and Plaits’ timbre, so the accents come out brighter instead of louder.
Chords come from ChordCV, driven by a SEQ 3 step through a VCA used as an attenuator — narrow the range down, then hunt for the chord you want by ear. The Arp is set outside-in and feeds both voices at once, which means you always hear the bottom of the voicing first. Turn up the ôchd going to the voicing and the arp will start throwing low notes at you out of nowhere. Best accident in the patch.
Four notes across four chords is sixteen steps against the ten-step accent pattern, so an eight-bar form falls out of the arithmetic without being written. No S&H, no random walk, no Bernoulli gate — all the movement is two ôchds running free.
Worth pulling apart if you want to hear how far you can get on phase alone.
