They had always been in the maze. The idea of “before” was laughable now, a decaying thought that slithered away every time they tried to hold it. The maze had no center, no edge — only turns and corridors that coiled like a brain and pulsed with something alive. The music was constant. Not music like an instrument, but more like sound *dreaming of form*: tones that slid between notes, harmonics that shouldn’t exist, rhythms that folded time.
When the sound rose, the walls moved.
They didn’t just shift — they *anticipated*. A wall would lean in before the tone hit, just enough to suggest malice, then ease back as if laughing. The corridors warped to the melody, bending tighter with each new phrase, becoming more and more impossible. The air began to taste like old wires. That’s when they first saw it.
At a blind corner — the orange sphere. It hovered just above the cracked tiles, humming with static that danced over its skin like lightning trapped in amber. It didn’t roll. It *waited*. Its presence made the music glitch, hiccup, change key. As they stepped closer, the melody unraveled into something jagged, metallic. The sphere vibrated, and the walls around it began to curve in directions that defied geometry — corners folding inward, stone bending like hot wax. The sphere pulsed once, and they felt it: not a thought, but a knowing — **it remembers the way out, but it has no reason to tell you**.
They turned, and the corridor behind them was gone. The music surged again. The maze began to sing.

ABOUT THE TEAM
This mind-melting port was patched together by rogue devs, circuit benders, various AIs and that one guy who insists VHS is still the future. We here at trc industries llc thank id Software for the inspiration and the sleepless nights.
Seriously. This one is kind of cool. Sure, it’s not really Doom running on an Eyesy but wth did you expect? Instead we have a 2.5-D funhouse on a rail tour of a maze with audioreactive FOV dancing walls. There are even powerful secrets hidden in the maze! Maybe you’ll see one! Perhaps I’ll develop this one further in the future. I think Knob3 is the only one doing much. You can play with the FOV a bit with that. And Knob4 is wall colors.

Looks great! And appreciate the demo. Make more!
