Double Whammy

Complicated Program, TL;DR description, but easy to use in practice.

Insert Mode Program – Parallel Routing. Dual Whammy using Polyphony || Polyphony. Preset [A] shifts from Unison to -2 octaves down (ON by default). Preset [B] shifts from Unison to +2 octaves up (OFF by default). See below for non-standard switching of Presets’ pitch direction.

(Optional) Serial Routing, with both Preset A and B enabled, yields unique ‘tape warbling’ effects, as opposite pitch shifts attempt to match up with each other. Programmed for stereo use.

Expression and/or Aux switches hold veto power over the base parameter settings. EXP1 sweeps all Shifts A and B – in Preset A, Preset B, or both, if enabled. Aux SW 4 effectively bypasses Preset A, by using Input Gain +6.0 dB to -60 dB (enabled / ‘active’ by default). Aux SW 5 does operates in the same way (disabled / ‘bypassed’ by default).

I had to use this unusual scheme, because I simply ran out of PERFORM switches that I wanted to use. Note that it is possible to ‘bypass’ both Presets, resulting in dead silence. You have been warned.

If you don’t have AUX switches connected, you will need to manually defeat those mappings with Quick Knob presses to Input Gain. There, set Preset A, Preset B (or both) to +6.0 dB. In Preset A for Whammy Down, Preset B for Whammy Up, or A&B for opposite Whammy sweeps.

The PERFORM switches complement and change the base parameters, EXP, and Aux Switch positions. There are all kinds of gain-staging components for my own system, so adjust them accordingly, to what works best for your own rig.

I added a staggered delay that repitches feedback downward and upward, a spread 4-voice octaver, a very wide and deep detuner / doubler, and the ability to FREEZE the [A] and/or [B] pitch shifted voices. It is possible to ‘play’ frozen voices with an expression pedal, under your dry input. Other unique options are in there, using combinations of HotSwitches, along with your external inputs.

Oh. And Program Active / Bypass, of course. See the Program Notes for complete information on the PERFORM Switch mappings.
