Building on my last upload! I am still out to build a better mousetrap, i.e. a convincing spring reverb tank, using reverb lite and diffuser modules. I’ve made a couple refinements here, in particular by using an OD/distortion module *after* the spring reverb (this patch inspired heavily by a recent episode of That Pedal Show on YouTube. Thanks to Ryan Dougherty for helping me to test and tweak the sounds.

Even set at low OD, the “pushed” module darkens the reverb ever so slightly, helping to smooth the diffuser’s edges out a bit. Cranked or hit harder, this gets a little closer to amp-like behavior.

I also added some features to the base “dirty spring” sound, which are useful immediately for live play and provide several gain stages:

-Right stompswitch: adds a clean boost to the input signal, before the reverb
-Middle stompswitch: adds a dirty boost by upping the OD module’s gain (about 12 dB)
-Expression pedal: does the same as the middle switch, adding even more input gain to the OD module (another 11-12 dB).

In other words, you can toggle on/off the increased dirt (which also will increase the perceived amount of reverb, as it amplifies the trails), or fade it in to taste with the EXP pedal.

Then, because why not:
-L stompswitch increases the mix and decay time of the reverb to add an even bigger wash. With just the clean boost on this sounds lush and clean, with lots of ambience, and with either or both dirty boost(s) engaged this gets very post-rock very quickly.

One last bit of fun: this is a mono input, stereo output patch, with a short slapback delay between the left and right sides. (The white display pixels reflect this). If you only plug in the L output it behaves in mono; plug in both outputs and you get a sweet slap.
