Wish it was from a French noir film, that would have been so much cooler than what I did! My sample came from the first online speech synthesis service I stumbled upon. Simply typed in the word I wanted and picked a slow version that was to my liking.
Using the recording CV inputs in the bottom row of the PdArray plugin (the one that is second from the left), I would randomly erase samples over time to give a deteriorating effect. The 8FO helps to identify the REC position, a constant value of 0V is sent to REC input and I use another LFO to toggle REC on or off.
